Time to get this blog back on track!
I am going to kick off another spiritual reading aka lectio divina for those who are familiar with the terms. I know some folks are in fear of such things, but those who have been following my Journey To The Deeper Life category know there is no bizzare mix of eastern religion and new age devilrie that the LHT folks would like you to believe.
This time around I feel led to focus on The Introduction to the Devout Life by St Francis of Sales and the book of Jeremiah. I am not sure what will roll out of this one as it is a different approach in spiritual direction from the last one where my heart and spirit was in so much pain that the abandonment literature was so refreshing and needful for me personally.
If you would like to follow along, again I will post the links, but if you’d rather download the book awesome! It can be found here: http://www.ccel.org/ccel/desales/devout_life.html
If you didn’t follow the last leg of the journey, take a look back at some of the posts in the Abandonment to Divine Providence category. I’ll be following the same basic format of a chapter or 2 at a time from both the book and the Bible. The key to gaining value out of this is to read prayerfully and carefully asking the Lord to reveal His heart as you meditate, contemplate, ponder and pray His word. Like before I will just post my immediate thoughts on the days reading.
Jim: Good to see you back
